Movie Reviews

Lesson of DVD: boys are insane, and no there's no need to be

"Don't make the mistake of buying this DVD because you associate Clandestine Industries with Fall Out Boy. Pete Wentz and his crazy friends are the focus of this DVD and the other members of FOB make appearances. That being said, you also shouldn't buy this unless you have an idea of who Pete Wentz is. He is something else entirely. Release The Bats is, in a nutshell, a collection of home videos made by Pete and his buddies from back home. Even though technically he is an adult, these videos just go to show that Pete's a crazy kid at heart. The videos also go to show that boys will do absolutely anything to cure boredom, no matter how disgusting it is. The first time I watched this DVD I was by myself. I usually feel stupid cracking up at things when no one else is there to share the joke, but I was rolling on the floor grabbing my stomach I was laughing so hard. There were quite a few times where I wasn't sure whether I should be dying laughing or running to the bathroom to puke. All I'll say is these guys have no reservations about doing anything to their bodies or putting anything in their bodies. As far as the entertainment factor goes, this DVD was a success. It certainly held my attention and kept me cracking up. There are also some clips of other bands, such as Armor For Sleep and Gym Class Heroes, playing. As far as having a point... well there is no point. It's just a look at what Pete Wentz does in his spare time.

And in reply to the kid above me: you obviously didn't read my review. But I'll answer your questions anyway. The guys do some pretty gross things (such as eating/drinking things that come out of your body) and do painful things to their private parts a lot. Typical teenage/young adult boy stuff. First of all, this DVD shouldn't have any affect on what you think of Fall Out Boy at all because Fall Out Boy is about music and their message. This DVD has nothing to do w/ either one. Second of all, if you were to start thinking badly of FOB after watching this... you're not old enough to be watching it."
Why 5 stars, you ask?

"Thats easy, before I had seen this movie, I had read Pete Wentz's Journal Entries on his Buzznet, FOBrock.com, and Fueled By Ramen, and had no clue who he was talking about when he talked about this character "Dirty." Now I have compleate and utter respect for Dirty. He's so amazing, with his screaming of "I love my life!!!" Not to mention, Hey Chris from Fall Out Boy's song (Grenade Jumper) is also in this movie, along with his girlfriend Hey Kate.

This DVD was watched by me and my friends and now we have so many new inside jokes. It was so funny. My personal favorite parts were Bedussey, and the deleted scenes (Panda Monium). Yes, there is a scene which features a cigarette and a scrotum, but, it's still in good spirit. Age wise, I think anyone whom is slightly mature and has a good sence of humor, can watch it. I watched it with my friends, whom are ages 15-17 and also with my cousin who is 12, and she loved it.

The versions: Grey and Pink (purchased on Fueledbyramen.com). There are no differences between the two different verstions other than the color of the case.

All in all, I do feel that this DVD seemed to get me to enjoy the band more."
Umm...just another review...

"Release the bats is definatly one of my favorite dvds i own. It will show you a side of pete wentz and others you may or may not want to see... i thought it was very interesting to see and its kind of cool to see another side others may not have. You also get to find out who Dirty is or whatever. Pete says things about him in a couple of places (online) and all i could think is "who is that?" so thats also very exciting. I would say as long as you have a good sense of humor your pretty much safe buying this.
remember: its the stuff deemed 'unfit' for "my heart with always be the b-side to my tongue""
AWESOME!!!

"Ok, lets me get this clear to you. I ordered this DVD a little hesitant whether i would like it or not. All of the reviews definitely helped me(u should read them before you buy, they are helpful). Well its just plain and simple, it's great, awesome all the other words that mean the same as those. If vyou are a Fall Out Boy or/aswell a fan of Pete Wentz i highly recommend this DVD to you. Yeah, so what, its a little gross-and as said in other reviews that it's like jackass with Pete Wentz and FOB and a few other people. But it's funny as, i was laughing soooo hard. And another thing- yeah if you hear Pete talking about Dirty or Hey Chris online, you finally find out who they are. It's great. Also cause you see live footage of them, Armor for Sleep, Gym Class heroes and more. Also if you are fan of Patrick, then go to the deleted scenes and see him acting like a panda. Frikkin cute. One of my favourites are Bedussey(you should watCH that its A crack up) OMG, i'm so sorry, long review. Anyhow basically my advice to you is to buy it and waTCH it, you'll love it. Come on its like 19.50 US altogether. Oh by the way, I live in NZ right, and it only took like 10 days to get on international standard shipping. Very trustworthy. Sorry, please say if you foud the review helpful. :)"
