Story about a group of teenagers in a dead end desert town that ends up being quaranantined due to a toxic spill - good performances from young Christina Ricci, Casey Affleck and Kate Hudson. The town's big claim to fame is the World's Largest Ice Cream Cone and a half finished water park (in the desert). When a tanker truck crashes and the driver mysteriously dies, the town is quarantined trapping Kate Hudson and her father with the locals for a couple of days. Casey Affleck plays an ATV racer who's in love with Christina Ricci, an explosives fanatic who also happens to be the sheriff's daughter. Quirky characters, teen angst, young love and town secrets make for an interesting movie. 1 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful.

As a person who watched this film for the first time at SXSW '99 my excitment was high. I had seen Huricane Streets and was prepared for anything. This film is not only funny, but also deeply moving.
