Based on the video game, Fatal Fury is widely regarded as one of the best kung fu anime features. The good guys are Terry "Hungry Wolf" Bogard and his brother, Andy; Thai kickboxer Joe Higashi; and the curvaceous ninja Mai... more ». With their masses of spiky blond hair, narrow blue eyes, and sharp features, the Bogard brothers almost cross over into the "beautiful boy" genre, but they and Joe are muscled like dinosaurs. Mai, who has a crush on Andy, provides both humor and jiggle interest in a succession of minuscule outfits. The heroes are pitted against an assortment of equally buffed-out Bad Guys, led by Laocorn, a descendant of the ancient clan of Gaudeamus, who is seeking to obtain "the armor of Vulcan." A relic going back to the time of Alexander the Great, the armor transforms anyone who wears all seven pieces of it into a god. But Laocorn's twin sister, Sulia, knows it will also make the wearer hopelessly evil: she enlists the Bogards and their friends to prevent her brother from acquiring the scattered pieces. Director Masami Obari uses all the standard tricks for the bone-crunching martial arts battles--blurs, streaks, slow-motion images of blows landing on skulls, camera spins, flashes of lighting, flames, and, of course, gobs of blood. Fatal Fury feels like a cross between an Indiana Jones film and a WWE tag-team match, and is sure to delight adolescent boys. (Rated 13 Up) --Charles Solomon« less

"I was realy surprised by this one. It is one of the most entertaining anime's I have ever seen. The character designs are top rate, thank you Mr. Obari, the plot is good, and most importantly the characters are great. They run the gamet. Terry is the lone wolf who realy just wants someone to love, Joe is the dirty minded but loveable friend, and Mai is the boubly and bouncey, and I do mean BOUNCEY ninja girl. most importantly however this movie has nothing to do with the game's pathetic storyline. This movie takes the characters from the game and uses them in an original plot about a madman trying to collect peices of armor that will make him a god. If the movies based on Tekken, Street Fighter 2, Toshinden, and Samuri showdown have left a bad taste in your mouth, then guzzle down Fatal Fury the Motion Picture. You will be glad you did. P.S You might what to see the first two FF films, Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2 The New Battle to familureize your self with the characters. It is not nessasary, but you will enjoy this movie more if you do."
An awesome martial arts spectacle.

""Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture" is one of the better video game based Anime's. Even though the characters have this peculiar look to them, overall animation is beautifully drawn and accentuated by the energetic action sequences. A story of several martial artists out to stop a man from achieving god-like status, by acquiring Armor of God, might seem a bit cheesy at first, but once you get into the movie, it is very exciting to watch. Another great thing about this Anime is that you don't have to know a thing about the video game to appreciate the movie. But if you do play the video game, it is even a bigger treat, to see all those awesome fighting moves come to life in full force. Quite an action spectacle."
The DVD blows the VHS totally out of the water

"I bought the VHS of this movie a long time ago and loved it. I loved it so much that I watched it about 50 times. I knew everything about the quality of the tape from when the audio screwed up to when certain parts were going to be fuzzy. When I bought the DVD I watched it and nothing, not one speck of fuzz was to be found, the sound totally blew me away too, way better than VHS. There are also a lot of extras on the disk that I liked too. Such things as Theatrical Trailers both in English and Japanese along with drawings, a backstory feature, and a lot of information about Viz including additonal trailers from other Viz Video offerings(a lot of them) made this disk well worth it's money. Words cannot explain the quality of both the video and the audio in this DVD. Amazon.com has the best price I've seen for this DVD anywhere on the internet. Don't miss out on it!"

"This movie was great! I really liked FATAL FURY the MOTION PICTURE and for me personally, it was the end complete to the series (FATAL FURY, Legend of the Hungry Wolf and FATAL FURY 2). This one starts out a bit on the slow side, but once the movie kicks in a little, it's full throttle from there. It starts out that the whole gang is getting back together to celebrate Joe Higashi's full recovery and return to the Muay Thai ring. Andy and Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui are all back together again and this time they find out that the legend of a mystical armor (the Armor of Mars) is true and that if all 6 pieces of the armor were to come together, they wearer would be invincible. By accident, they find a young girl named Sulia amd she's being hunted down by some very strange enemies. The gang then finds out that the people chasing her are working for her brother, Laucorn. He needs his sister to help him find the final 3 pieces of the armor and become a God. It's up to Joe, Terry, Andy and Mai to stop him and protect Sulia at all costs. The animation in this is great, the action is a vast step up from FATAL FURY 2 and the story is also great. And for all you scurvy pervies out there, there is a shower scene with Mai Shiranui. I'd check this one out. Out of the 3 FATAL FURY series videos, this one is my favorite. Check it out, you'll definitely enjoy this one!"
They fought and never look back

"Fatal Fury the movie is one of a kind anime mix with a video game. Street Fighter is still the other anime that I like because bringing the favor into the character is wonderful. Terry is the calm, street fighter, Andy is stressed out because of Mai, Joe acts like a bonehead and Mai is a bit pighead sucking up to Andy to protect her. When one of the pieces of "Armor of Mars" was founded by "Laocorn" he plans to use all six pieces to become a god. Not only that his twin sister Sulia asked Terry to help her brother to be free of the cruse. Terry and his team went on to find the armor to prevent Laocorn to be controled by the armor. Fatal Fury action, drama, and some comedy to impress the fans. Special apperances by Kim Kapwhan, Duck King, Billy Kane and others from FF2. What makes also makes this movie special is the song "Oh Angel" at the credits. sounds romatic."
