Movie Reviews

Nothing Happens In This Movie.

"I went totally crazy over this movie when I saw the cover and I paid the full retail price. The idea of a young teanage boy having a relationship with a middle age Latina is something that makes me very interested. But, what happens in this movie is this--after wasting time for an hour, they finally get down to business. The couple make out and have sex. But, do we get to see it...? Answer. No! They do it first under a thick dirty plastic cover, which gives you only shadows. Then they do it outside the cover, and we get to see a shot of their faces as they moan. Are you kidding me?...I had exected some bold Mexican movie, like "Sex and Lucia," where you get some real action. This, however, is whimpy, stupid, soap opera stuff. A waste of talent, money, and resources. Need I say more?"

"This is a simple but truly splendid little movie with a real sting in the tail.It is only when the movie is nearly over and you realize just what has been going on that you appreciate it for its true value, but I am not going to reveal the twist here as that would spoil the story. What I can say is that the movie is about a young man who needs to complete an assignment for his video class and invites a middle aged woman to help him out with his homework by acting in some scenes with him for his videotape. However, things are not as they seem and you finish up getting a big surprise. If you are looking for lots of sex and nudity, like the only other reviewer for this movie was, then this one is not for you. If,on the other hand you are looking for a thought provoking storyline with good acting then this movie is well worth watching. There is some brief sex near the end but you see very little flesh, just a very passionate performance from the two leading actors involved. Maria Rojo, who plays the role of the middle aged woman,is very sexy in a mature sort of a way.Definitely one for lovers of arthouse movies."
