I think this one was just awful. The Jason original and most of it's sequels take place at Crystal Lake not a city. It was pretty dumb how they just had to do that.

Jason Takes A Boat Ride

One of the worst of the Friday sequels. This film is just annoying. It promises to have Jason on a killing spree in New York City and really fails too deliever. The final 30 minutes is supposed to be there, but except for a pointless street scene, was shot in Canada. The majority of this sorry excuse for a movie features Jason stalking and slaying High School kids on a chartered boat sailing from Crystal Lake to Manhattan (hence the film's title). Cool premise, but awful execution.

Logic stopped having a place in the Friday series altogether around Part 3, but this film (part 8 BTW) ignores the previous films in favor of catering to some misguided ideas that make no sense. The ending. Watch the ending. I need not say more.
