(Deidra670) from GARRETT, KY Reviewed on 5/7/2011... I don't understand why THE GOLDEN COMPASS failed to reach a wider audience, such as THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA. It had a great story, thrilling action and the CGI didn't look cartoonish. The armored bears looked real and frightening. My best guess is Nicole Kidman. It seems like she's the kiss of death to any movie she's in. Don't believe me, name one successful movie she's been a part of besides the amazing THE OTHERS, which is a real shame because she's so good in THE GOLDEN COMPASS. So, I highly recommend THE GOLDEN COMPASS, especially if you like your fantasy with a dose of healthy paranoia.
