Movie Reviews

Real Images of Chant
Jesus Rabell-Mendez | San Juan, Puerto Rico | 05/20/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This DVD gives the reader real images on chanting by Benedictine Monks. It also gives reviews on chanting which are very educational by known experts in the field. You don't always have the opportunity to see and hear chanting. By seeing this DVD you are transported to the middle ages while at the same time receiving an excellent analysis of it's present and historical setting and meaning. Great music with great education in sight and sound. Also you get to know better Ismael Fernandez de la Cuesta, a former Benedictine Monk who in the 1990's broght chanting to masses of people together with the Spanish Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo the Silos . It's more than text and video. It's transcendence on a higher plane."
