"This is a rare narrative on several light houses in Europe, Canada and the United States. Exceptionally well-written and photographed, stories of many light houses from the 13th Century AD to today are portrayed beautifully. The fantastic music is a plus to the visual effects provided by the treacherous seas and the lofty light houses.
The history, building and maintenance, progressive technology over time, upkeep by many generations of the same families, sporadic family lives of the keepers, heroes and heroines of light houses, and interesting stories (a haunted lighthouse, for example), are all incorporated.
The average individual does not think about light houses or what it takes to build and maintain them, let alone the danger and difficulty of the job the keepers gladly do, and the sacrifices their families have been making. This program is very informative.
