This was absolutely an inspirational movie that gives one hope and faith. Luke wilson was the right casting of the character who returns hometown to wait to die. All the other supporting casts members were great in their roles. I recommend this movie to everyone! 8 out of 10 on the scale, well worth my time to view it!

Great rainy day film

"I love Luke Wilson, and I have passed over Henry Poole is Here a hundred times...so glad I finally decided to take the time to watch. I've read many reviews that take a negative stance on this movie because of its religious content, but I never felt this film took a didactic turn. Yes, religion is present and plays a large role in moving the plot forward, but it is more about the journey of one man, Henry Poole, for whom life no longer has a meaning. He returns to a place he felt safe and alive, and finds that it cannot revive what he has lost. Only through his connections with people does Henry reconnect with himself. Does he believe that it was a miracle of God in the end? Why don't you decide...I'm not convinced. What's wrong with a movie that makes you glad to be alive? I found it positively pleasant!"
Wonderful little movie about big ideas

"Henry Poole is Here tells the tale of a man who keeps trying to shut the world out. He's had disappointments and a has a serious medical condition to deal with. But the world keeps on knocking and finally Henry comes to realize that it's the possibilities that make life worth living."
