SOMETHING WILD, FROM SOMETHING WEIRD!
The Batmaniac | Boston | 06/20/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"JUVENILE DELINQUENCY RUN AMOK! This trio of "Teen" dramas is just the perfect cheesy fun for a Friday night with your "main squeeze"!

1.HIGH SCHOOL BIGSHOT- Remeber those "bobby soxers" and cheerleaders you used to dream about scoring with? Well, fergit about it! Marv learns that sometimes it's best to let the jocks keep 'em! Marv is a high school senior in line for a scholarship to "college". He's broke and lives alone with his chronically unemployed, drunken father. He's got the hots for a buxom gal from the other side of the tracks, but so what? Love is blind ain't it? Fortunately for him, he learns that a million dollars in cash is being stored in the dock warehouse where he works after school. The cash is lined up for a major drug score but Marv decides that he and his dad need the cash more than the pushers! His mistake? He hires a safecracker played by Stanley Adams (Star Trek's Tribble pushing "Cyrano Jones") and if that ain't enough, he tells the "chesty" girl he likes about his plans, who then tells her dumb moose of a boyfriend! It's a wild ride this side of John Waters and Quentin Tarentino! The best of the three you'll want to watch again and again!

Three and a half stars!!!

2. HIGH SCHOOL CAESAR- The most "serious" (and boring) of the three. John Ashley, who went on to play Frankie Avalon's buddy in all of the "Beach Party" movies, is the "Caesar" who terrorizes his school mates and rules with an iron fist. He gets away with it until his violent ways lead to murder.

Two stars

3. DATE BAIT-
A Druggy returns to town only to find the gal he wanted has moved on to better things.

His brother is a two-bit dope pusher who tries to keep him out of trouble by beating up his classmates.

The Girl he liked has moved on to the bromide hero of this movie who lives alone with his older brother. He wants to marry her but her...

...Self Made Man of a Father wants her to marry someone "in her class".

Not a bad movie. A few thrills, a car chase, knife fights and a teen angel who just can't keep her shoes on. (That was the early Sixties idea of titilation! The "teeny" bikini was still a few years away!)

Two and half stars!!!

Four Stars for the entire DVD!"

"I bought these movies with the same expectations that i usuallly have SWV's cheasy goodness. But I actually turned out to like these movies. The soundtrack is big band jazz which seems to hit great big notes on a character's folley. The acting is pretty good. Espiecally the High school caeser in High Scool Caeser. ( he reminds me of Ray Liotta.) But to sum up, i highly recommend this set, and i will show to my friends along with the beast that killed women ( also from Something wWierd Video)"
