"If you're an ISS fan, buy this DVD right now before it gets pulled from the shelves for being the most outrageous music video ever released upon an uptight world.
For the curious, this disc is the best place to get started if you wanted to learn more about the group. Every ISS show is the most exciting and action packed spectacle you can attend, and this disc captures that excitement the best it can while the group plays an outdoor German festival. ISS is a full ensemble of musicans and performers, and the cameras have to work hard to catch all the simultaneous action on stage.
The disc is only the 50 minute performance, no bonus features found here. Shot well with some great upclose angles, and sounds good, too.
The music is performed well, with vocal stylings done by singer "13" and lead guitars by "Buck Futt." The setlist is okay, playing a few big covers "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "People Who Died", one very early song "Pope John Paul Can Suck My..." and mid-90's "Kangaroo's Up the...", several from Everything in Excess and a few unreleased tracks. The band is good, also playing instrumental breaks during stunt performances.
The spectacle must been seen to be believed. First, the band dresses as drag queens with wigs, make-up, lots of glitter, high heels and lingerie. The ensemble performers come out in a variety of costumes dressed like a priest, schoolgirl, female cop, etc. or go naked. There's firebreathing, stiltwalking, bandsaw sparks (a naked girl wears a metal plate over her crotch), wax dripping, spankings and whippings, Violet Wand use, simulated oral sex with full release, bondage, breast and vaginal piercing, huge amounts of pyro, dildo beating, fire whipping, lesbian sex, and burning American flags on huge wooden crosses.
You never know what will happen next, and won't believe it as you see it. ISS is the ultimate spectacle and nothing touches them.
The disc would be a five star if there were any bonus features (it would be great if ISS had their HBO Real Sex appearances),
or if the setlist had more of the band's earlier music (which was as shocking as the stage spectacle.)"
