The Mickey Thomas Era

"The collection of videos is the Jefferson Starship period after Marty Balin. The direction of the band as each year passes turns more commercial. Mickey Thomas was directed during this time frame to be the Tom Selleck of Rock. In Jefferson Airplane, Grace Slick rebelled against her image. In Starship, she embraces the cameras in modelesque fashion. As videos go the group reaches the space age on "Stranger" and "Winds Of Change". On the downside the cheezy "We Built This City" makes no sense starting in Las Vegas then ending in San Francisco. Promoter Bill Graham and politician Willie Brown make cameo appearances on "Layin' It On The Line". The play list order is: JEFFERSON STARSHIP - Find Your Way Back, Stranger, Be My Lady, Winds Of Change, No Way Out & Layin' It On The Line. STARSHIP - We Built This City, Sara, Tommorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight & It's Not Over (Til' It's Over). Running Time: 46 minutes. No bonus tracks or interviews. DVD Transfer: good to very good."
