NONE BETTER!!

"Joseph Campbell: Power of Myth is THE book, tape, dvd, whatever medium you like, to learn about how religion has destroyed our mythic lives. As Mr Campbell explains, belief in a god for the god's sake is like eating the menu at the restaurant! Myths show us what is within us, not what is beyond us. Myths are the mirrors of our humanity and Mr Campbell is the light that allows us to see into that reflection. You cannot pass up any chance to hear him, see him or read him. He will change the way you look at the world and your life."

"While watching Joseph Campbell and "The Power of Myth" in my English class, it became evident to me how important mythology is in people's lives. I had not realized that people study and learn this subject with such great depth. Joseph Campbell is obviously one of those people. He demonstrates his intelligence by using relations to other subjects. One example he gives it the way that Star Wars follows the hero's journey perfectly. Joseph Campbell also gives great advice to people by using examples from mythology. Campbell particularly talks on the subject of heroes. He had a wonderful description of heroes, and he made amazing allusions with them.
Moses is said to be a hero figure. He departs, fulfills his duties, then returns. The actor Douglass Fairbanks is another hero figure. Campbell says that Jesus is a hero because he fought the temptation of the devil. When Campbell talked of heroes, he said that the achievement of the hero is always one that he is ready for. He also believes that the moral objective of a hero is that of saving a person or a thing. Campbell also found two types of deeds within a hero. Those deeds may be physical or spiritual. Joseph Campbell also believes that everyone is a hero from his own birth. Campbell also states that a hero's journey ultimately begins with leaving and ends with a return. He also gives great advice from his intelligence in mythology.
Campbell advises that our life evokes our character. He also believes that it is important to live life with its mystery. Joseph Campbell also advises to follow your personal bliss. When he was asked to tell of the place that all seek to find, he said that it is a place within you of total repose. It is a place of rest and peace. He believes that the consciousness is basically the ability to know.
Joseph Campbell made many great contributions to society. He shared his intelligence about mythology to help others better understand the strange aspects of myths. He was a great contribution to mythology who we could not have done without.

"Not the fast-paced quick-cut type of documentary that is common nowadays, but if you are looking for an understanding of the profound implications mythology has in your everyday life, this series is for you. Bill Moyers leads Joseph Campbell through six hours of discussions that will surely change your life. Awesome!"
