A cheaper version of Master Lau Kar Lueng's classic "Dirty H

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Just like drunken master, secret rivals, bruce lee movies... this is actually a decent spin off with a ton of great shaw brother stars.

I gave the movie a 3/5 and the commentary a 5/5.

It is a story about the 4th prince who wants to become emperor becasue he is righteous. So to do that he is going to kill hsi brother, the 14th prince becasue he was going to named ruler of the country. Dorian tan shows up as a character just like wong yue(not jimmy wang yu) played, but nobody except ti lung really gets remembered.

Now this movie tries so so hard to be a shaw brothers movie it made me a little sick. The director is extremely incompetent. He has all the tools like costumes and players to make a great flick, btu he needs to stop doing drugs on the set. This movie is the same as a movie called Inheitor of Kung Fu but at least the actors in this one must have made some suggestions. Like for instance ti lung may have said to the passed out director "we have been working on this for 1 week, we only have 2, can we try and finish this". Then he probably took teh camera himself and finished the last hour. It is just a weird movie. I will not try to explain this mess but will tell you to watch it for all the taiwanese and shaw brothers stars in some really good action. There are a couple of really good fights including the end with the great chen sing.

Now the picture quality is a little worse than normal and teh pan and scan job is just godawful, but it does have a commentary on it with ric myers and bobby samuels. And for the first time I got some knowledge from them, I mean all they did was guess since they don't know any actual history of the film, but they don't just rattle off literally hundreds of movies these guys have been in. They stick moer on the movie , techniques, the actors themselves, and of course this fabuloso directorial job."
