Angelin Preljocaj

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Angelin Preljocaj is known for his amazing dance pieces, which are a symphony for all the senses. Le Songe de Médée and MC14/22 are definately two of those pieces. Preljocaj's delicate work is shown in this two pieces in a wonderful way. I am more than just satisfied with this purchase"
An Unbelievable Performance

"I had the good fortune of seeing Ceci Est Mon Corps" live at the Palais Garnier last spring. It was extraordinary. Definitely the most powerful ballet I have ever seen in person. The movement is bold and striking. Bare, masculine and aggressive. Keep in mind that this is pretty much a homoerotic depiction of The Last Supper. It was shocking. A lot of the audience was a bit flabbergasted; they clearly had no idea what they were coming to see (neither did I). It was a considerable highlight of my trip to Paris. Men, being slammed across aluminum tables, being washed, prepared for death, corpse-like, falling off of stacked tables in arms shaped like a crucifix. Men who are almost completely naked, save for a loincloth. I really admire Prejlocaj for his audacity, originality, and specter in this terrific performance. You can't go wrong buying this DVD."
