Movie Reviews

A Must Have!

"We're first time parents and found this video extremely helpful for educating us on all of the "need to knows" when caring for a newborn. The DVD moves quickly and Sheri has a great sense of humor too. She includes everything you need to know, and nothing you don't! My husband and I both really learned a lot and recommend it to all first time parents."
Baby Care Review

"This product is HIGHLY OVERPRICED! I was disappointed in the fact that only six items were addressed for the high price I paid for this product. There was no Q&A or anything outside of the six items covered... again highly disappointed that it is so "narrow" in it's information for the price! Once I received it and watched it - I kept asking myself "is that all of it?" Would not have purchased it had I known it was so "limited" in it's information."
Rent or borrow instead

"I am expecting my first baby in 6 weeks and I have a ton of questions on baby care! Laugh and Learn About Newborn Baby Care is not as COMPREHENSIVE as it claims. The footer on the DVD cover should say, "This Guide includes *** ONLY *** Bathing, Diaper Change, Dressing, Swaddling, and all the Supplies you will need *** ONLY FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED ***." It's good to watch in addition to similar DVDs but waaay overpriced for the brief content.

I do enjoy watching the intructor, Sheri Bayles. (I also have her childbirth class DVD.) She is engaging and entertaining. The format of her DVDs are recorded live classes where she is speaking directly to her students.

In comparison, I would say ABC's of Newborn Baby Care is more comprehensive in terms of topics from choosing a pediatrician to car seat safety. However, the time spent on each topic is very brief. The script and acting is also kind of cheesy.

There are pros and cons to both DVDs. There are tips and techniques included in one that are not in the other. My suggestion is to rent or borrow instead. I got both at my local public library and I'm waiting for another DVD from Netflix, Bringing Baby Home: The Ultimate Baby Care DVD. Afterwhich, I'll decide which DVD I will purchase to keep as reference."

"Getting my husband to read anything was impossible, however, he really enjoyed these videos. We both thought they were humorous and informative. I would suggest this video in addition to the rest of the series."
