I am constantly amazed by the amount of people on this site, who cannot be bothered to read the description of a boxed set! There is no trickery here! Swap's description clearly states that this is a "serial" collection from the 1930s. The actual box states this, very clearly. Other sites that I checked, including Amazon, all clearly state that this is a collection of movie serials. These people have no one to blame but themselves and it appears there are around 50 of them, since over that many are available to trade. Gee, how proud their mommies must be!

If you collect serials like myself, you know that these titles can be hard to come by, in an "officially" released set. All four of them, for the $5 I spent, is an incredible bargain. I am very happy to have them and they look no worse than a great many of the serials that I have from the 30s. Even if there were better copies of the prints out there somewhere, these serials will never be "restored". There is simply not a big market for them. They are what they are ... a piece of cinematic history, available for those who appreciate such things.

The other reviewers need to take remedial reading classes.

Darn mad!

"So darn dissapointed with this box set of 48 shows! After I got it, I saw on the back of the box.... made in 1930to 1935!!! Well, need I say anymore! The films on the DVD's were such bad quality, I wanted to just though the box set in the trash!! Very disappointed with this! I have never gotten such a bad deal!! DON'T BUY THIS ONE!! rmg."
Viewing quality terrible

"It's easy to suppose that one is getting episodes from the 50s TV show here. No, what you get are four discs, each with a 12-episode Rin Tin Tin serial from the 30s and 40s. Nothing wrong with that, but the quality of the transfers is such that you will have to be a real Rinty enthusiast to get through even one episode. The serials are hardly good enough to merit expensive restoration, but hard to watch without it. One hopes someone can find better elements to put out a more watchable DVD someday. Good example of getting what you paid for."
Not the TV show

"It is not the TV series which is what i was hoping for. The movie serials are a little dated and Rinnie is not always the star. I have watched it once and will probably never again."
