Movie Reviews

Legion of what boom?

"I need to make one thing quite clear about this review: I have more complaints about the quality of the audio on this disc than I do the actual music it contains.

The biggest problem facing this disc is it is sold as a DVD-Audio disc. One would hope that the DVD-A portion would then not suck. Unfortunately for Legion of Boom that isn't the case. The depth and impact the tracks have simply does not exist. Whoever was working at their soundboards must have fallen asleep or been stoned.

If you listen to the DTS portion of this disc you get a much more enjoyable experience. The bass exists and is in fact deep, strong and vibrant. In fact overall the entire range of sound is better on the DTS side than the DVD-Audio side. This simply shouldn't be, and if this were only marketed as a DTS disc I wouldn't be slamming it as much as I am.

I'd give this a 4 for the music but as a product I have to say I am heavily disappointed by the shortcomings of the DVD-A section of this disc.

For those of you who haven't got DVD-A playback you'll never know the difference."
Crystal Method come back with a bang

"I have been a fan of CM since Vegas came out. For those with a high-end home theater this DVD is a must. With DTS and Pro Logic decoding you will get an incredible sound and it will be perfect for showing off the power of your system. My walls shake when playing "Born too slow". Its quite an ear-trip."
