I got this movie new unopened from a yard sale for a buck. Man did I get a deal. This movie is way cool. Now I am not from the target age group, as that would be kids and I'm 48, but this movie has a lot to offer old timers as well. It is clearly a movie made to sell Lionel Trains as Lionel is all over the place, but it is not tacky but in story.
The Graphics are campy computer graphic and the char are stereotyped but seem to be able to be more. The thing didn't end either. So why so high a score? The story was that good. The idea was so inspiring. The movie pulls up every train set I ever built. Even the old clunky one for my mom's Christmas village and tossed me in the train itself. In a word Awesome.
WARNING I AM GIVING OUT SPOILERS from here down.
Our story starts with 3 key inventors of state of the art Lionel model trains. They are getting ready to unveil the latest and greatest breakthrough from the labs, despite warnings from one of the key inventors. Who's wife, kids and father are at the set up. When another Co. tries to steel the prototype. That is when every thing goes wrong and people are sucked into a vortex of light, including the kids mom and dad. Leaving them to grow up with grandpa.

Now a time skip of 8 yr happens and the kids grandpa and one of the key inventors wined up at the same spot where it all happened last time and low and behold the thieves show up as well. Now it is time to poor on the steam, nope not to 88 mph but close, to 150 PSI.
Then pow they are taken not through time but to Lionel Land. All the model train layouts as well as some of the old model trains are here. Now this is where the adventure should began but it stops. It stops before any thing really happens in Lionel Land leaving you to say where is the next one. They haven't made it as of 10-19-13. The backdrop is clear there was to be more.
