This film is essential viewing for all fans of alien invasion movies. Most alien invasion films become cliched filled (majority r rally round the flag propaganda) while this movie remains entertaining throughout. Based on a series of trading cards (best known for showing graphic images of the aliens causing havoc.

Years ago 1997 when this came out I watched it. I loved it and let my kids from 6-9 watch it. after I had previewed it. They were terrified and worried about aliens for months after that. I felt bad. I loved it and thought it was funny. So in 2008 I let my NOW next set of younger kids watch it 9-11. The 10 year old said he could see why it may have scared them, but they loved it. This MOVIE is a keeper!!! it is great, funny, really not scary and full of stars.

It's old hat that Warner weren't keen on Mars Attacks! however I had hoped a change within the company would have resulted in a darn site more respect being bestowed upon its blu ray release. None of the extras from the dvd are carried over, and the transfer is another of Warner's (hello Eraser!) dull, noise/grain reduced and thus lacking that HD quality pop releases. Fine detail is seriously lacking, so much so, there's nowhere near the step up from sd-dvd it should have been.

Save your hard earned, it's not worth buying.

Warner please get your finger out and rerelease this as a special edition with a restored transfer.
