Movie Reviews

I give this a 5 star rating because you are getting 6 movies

(5 out of 5 stars)

"CHALLENGE OF DEATH-Great directing job by Lee Tso Nan on this. Very well done story and awesome kung fu. Tommy Lee has a small cameo but looks amazing in his short fight. Dorian Tan gets back together with Don Wong Tao after appearing in 'The Hot, the Cool, and the Viscous' together. Finally, Chang Yi shows up and pulls out the deadly spider claw. A MUST SEE!!!!! 4/5

Picture quality is fine.

THE LEG FIGHTERS-Not one of Lee Tso Nan's best movies but still good. Chin Lung is funny but underused as is Sun Jung-Chi from 'Shaolin vs. Lama'. The final fight with Peng Kong is absolutely one of the greatest finales ever making this a true classic. I will never forget the shot of the full impact kick that freezes as the last shot of the movie. If you thought the fighting was inventive at all in 'Shaolin vs. Lama' then you have to see this movie just for the final fight alone. Peng Kong plays the villian and also play the villian's brother and has a great fight against Dorian Tan at the beginning of the movie. It is truly a great fight but then you see how much he was holding back when you see the final fight and it is just an explosion in your face. No possible way you will be able to watch this only once. Somebody told me once that they didn't like the finale very much because the guy is on wires and just flies around. Well, he is obviously not on wires. Peng Kong is really doing all of these spectacular moves. One of my favorties. 4/5

Picture quality is a bit above average.

KILLER FROM ABOVE-Lo Lieh in a good starring role taking on Chang Yi and Carter Wong. Cliff Lok also shows up having a couple spurts of amazing combinations going off on multiple people. The final fight is very good and the story is enyoyable as well. Very good movie. 4/5

Picture quality is fine.

DEATH RING-Very badly done Lu Feng directed movie. Starts out OK but just falls apart and it gets stupid. There are 1 or 2 good fights at the beginning and then FINALLY there is another good one at the end. Other than that, this movie is a complete waste. 1.5/5

Special feature on this disc is an audio comentary from Ric Myers. It is enjoyable.

Picture quality is fine.

KILLER OF SNAKE, FOX OF SHAOLIN-An extremely low budget and boring fantasy kung fu movie. Nick Cheung and Carter Wong have a couple of quick, below average fights. Just a bad movie. 1.5/5

Picture quality is a bit below average but it wouldn't matter if it was remastered to perfection.

EAGLE'S CLAW AND BUTTERFLY CLAW-Horrible picture quality partly ruins this movie though it is not good to begin with. There are a couple of good action sequences but the movie is very boring. 1.5/5

This is a decently packaged 6-pack from Tai Seng. It is a good deal and the packaging isn't near as bad as The Seven Swordsmen TV series or the Ninja 6-pack. Be aware that the discs are in a cheap platic case and if you order it through the mail, a plastic piece will most likely break. I bought mine from a store at the mall and I kind of feel lucky that only a small piece broke and 5 out of 6 discs can safely be placed inside of the case. Like I said though, it is still better than some other of their multi-disc releases."
