Our 7, 8 and 10 year old boys LOVED it. Left the 10 year with the determination to become a SEAL, instead of a Naval fighter pilot. :)

Welcome to BUD/S!
RJRo20 | California | 10/15/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This 3-disc DVD set is an incredible documentation about military training in an elite force. It gives an insider's look into BUD/S class 234: of the students and of their no-nonsense, hard-core instructors.

BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) training is the six months of basics, which includes PT phase, diving/water navigation, and weapons. Viewers get a glimps of what it takes to become a Navy SEAL. The cold, the endurance, the self-sacrifice, the will to win and succeed, and the dedication to the team.

My brother-in-law's father was a Navy SEAL, and after watching this documentary, I've gained greater appreciation and understanding of his experience. However, the DVD just shows a snippet of SEAL training. BUD/S is just the beginning!

For any potential SEAL-to-be, this DVD is a must! Also, for the extreme workout (or physical preparation) try: The Complete Guide to Navy Seal Fitness, Third Edition (Includes Free DVD): Updated for Today's Warrior Elite.

Insight Into Human Nature

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Along with all the fascinating observations about elite military training, this documentary has to make anyone ask the question; why do some people simply refuse to quit?

Since BUDS is voluntary, a trainee can leave at anytime. How come out of 114, only 16 stay to the end?

Human being generally seem able to take anything when they have no choice. But these guys can go home anytime they want. What makes a select few refuse to even let the idea of quitting enter their mind no matter what the misery?

Perhaps even better than watching these boys push it past the limit of endurance is the simple and direct comments of the instructors on what is happening. These instructors could write a PhD dissertation on human nature and it would be better than most of the garbage that is out there.

It's 5 hours - and you won't be able to look away.

See it."
Simply Outstanding

"This dvd suits anyone who is into learning more about U.S military, or for potential future Seals. It covers the 6 months training sailors must go through to become navy seals. Buds ( basic underwater demolition seal training) is considered the hardest military training in the world. This dvd shows you inside of Buds, and it is perfect for individuals who want to become Seals. I consider this to be one of the greatest documentary ever. Hooyah Navy."
