A decent remake of the 80s horror classic (which was influenced by the Italian film Demons BTW) that does a decent job of retaining the overall feel of the original while having it's own take on the material. Not the greatest, but still entertaining.

So I first heard about this remake in Fangoria magazine and thought it sounded like good, campy fun. I'd never seen the original, but I figured I'd give this one a shot. I was pretty disappointed. The acting isn't all that great and the special effects are pretty cheesy. It's basically about this girl who throws a party in a house that is 'haunted' by demons. After the party is shut down, the remaining group of people become possessed by the demons and start taking each other out, one by one. It wasn't a very good film, although I did enjoy seeing Edward Furlong in a movie, even though he let himself go. *shakes head* If you're looking for cheesy camp that isn't meant to be taken seriously, give this one a whirl.

Trash

"NIGHT OF THE DEMONS is absolute trash. Nearly devoid of plot with acting on par with the latest infomercial, this movie drags horribly and is simply a flesh festival. It is one of those films, which you would like your time back from. It is a useless piece of cinema meant only for exploitative purposes. Cheesy to the extreme, 90's CGI, absurd script, pointless drivel. DEMONS was a "there is nothing else out to rent this week" rental. Don't waste your time, money, or effort to seek this out for any reason. It has no redeeming qualities at all. Trash, trash, trash. NOT FOR KIDS! NO STARS.....I only gave it one because Amazon does not allow a "No" stars rating."
Not as great as i hoped...

"Being a fan of the original NotD i was excited to hear about a remake of this cheesy classic.I avoided teaser trailers and pics at all costs to fully enjoy this when it came out. When the day finally came i rented it and waited for nightfall to come.
As soon as I popped it in to the main menu i heard cheesy halloween rock music.I somehow had a feeling i was gonna hear it throughout the movie.Turns out I was right.Don't get me wrong I love rock music and if the occasion should rise I will endure the halloween rock as well. But for a movie like this I didn't think it was necessary for the music to be throughout.
As for the acting I didn't feel very convinced by anyone of the actors or actresses.Except for Linnea Quigley in her deja-vu cameo. That's how bad it was. There are a few ha-ha moments but they are very brief. There is plenty of gore, sex and even drugs if you're into that. But the atmosphere of the movie in general never matched the orignal to the point of almost watching an action movie but with demons.
All in all I do think that if you seen the original you should give it a try to watch it.But i would STRONGLY recommend renting it."
