Movie Reviews

Habit full of Laughs!
Book Worm and canine | Wisconsin | 12/06/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I first saw this show when it ran on PBS ages ago and even as a late elementary age kid i loved it! The songs are catchy (adicting if you're not careful) and each of the ladies plays her part the way it was meant to be played. Sure the presentation of the film itself (incorperating the actual audience in shot) may seem a bit undesirable to someone who hasn't seen it live, but it works for this film! I had the pleasure of playing Sr. Robert Ann in a high school production of this show and each of us worked hard to capture the essence of our characters that was displayed in this version. Some people are under the mistaken impression that this show makes fun of Catholicism but i couldn't disagree with them any stronger. Likewise you deffinately don't have to be Catholic to enjoy the show. When i moved out of my parents house and into my own apartment i swiped their copy of this movie. They're now begging me to either buy my own copy or buy one for them! Definately a good laugh! So make Nunsense a habit around your house today!"
Nunsense, Don't Miss this one

"What more can you say about Nuns who have to raise cash to support thier convent after a catastrophe. This DVD was as entertaining as being there live. It kept me laughing through the whole show. Don't miss!!"
One of the great musicals on video!

"Each time I watch this video it gets funnier and funnier! Rue McClanahan shows her great comic talent as Sr. Mary Regina! She wonderfully played a slut in "The Golden Girls" to playing a nun! Who knew? The rest of the cast (Terri White, Christine Toy, Christine Anderson and Semina De Laurentis) are sensational! Even though Rue M. is the most famous one, each of the ladies in this production show that each of them has a terrific star quality! My recommendation for anyone who loves musical theatre is to buy this video immediately! You won't regret it!"
An absolute must-see for anyone familiar with the show!

""Nunsense", the musical that started it all! Followed later by Nunsense II and finally Nunsense III: Sister Mary Amnesia's Country Western Nunsense Jamboree, this is perhaps the best of all three musicals. The video has become the starting ground and "Bible" for many productions of Nunsense in professional as well as semi-professional and amateur theatres."
