Movie Reviews

An amazing, extensive DVD
EerieVonEvil | The Rabbit Hole | 09/08/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For a band that has been around as long as Tub Ring, I have to say they deserve to make great sales with this release. I was smart and pre-ordered this so I can tell you first-hand ahead of time that this professionally made DVD/B-Sides album is more than worth it if you are a fan. From the in-depth interviews/history with the band, to the video, the live stuff, the games, I honestly say that this is one of the most entertaing music-related DVDs ever. This is not a cash-in. This band tours out the ass to get their name out. They have always been underground and have always been on the cutting edge of original music(and if you make another Bungle comparison I'll knock your teeth out). They are very skilled musicians and their frantic musical style reflects this. The bonus B-Sides album is more than worth the DVD price. Its a whole new Tub Ring album! Plus another one that you will have to buy this release to find out about. Thats two albums and a stellar DVD for a deal price! As far as the B-sides goes its a great eclectic mix as usual. There are nice rockers(Keep Your Head Down, 2Minus3), There are mellow interludes(God Hates Astronauts, The Night Watch) Plus totally unexpected tracks like One Piece at a Time. The demo version of Panic The Digital is my fav, the drums sound so much more thunderous. Bustin' A Nutt 2001(previously released on the Book Of Water japan-only cd) is a great erratic tune too. I cant really go into too much else cause once you get this it will speak for its self. Buy this and support a band worth supporting cause they work hard to make great original music. I'm totally happy with this release...By the way, despite what the band thinks, their first two full lengths are great(Mashed Potato Mountain Etiquette & Super Sci-Fi Samurai Rockstar Turbo II 3.6) You'll never find them, but if you somehow do get them. Buy this awesome Package! Nuff said."
