this is a really good movie, with great acting by Edward Norton, whom I don't usually like, but he is terrific in this picture.

The Painted Veil stars Edward Norton (Dr. Fane) and Naomi Watts (Kitty) as a newly married couple where Edward Norton married for love and Naomi Watts married for convenience. When the marriage starts to unravel Dr. Fane decides to uproot them into the middle of a cholera epidemic as punishment.
The Painted Veil is a fantastic and beautiful romantic movie. Naomi Watts and Edward Norton are spot on with their roles. Their character's contempt for each other is obvious in the film but they do not exaggerate their contempt so much that it becomes over bearing. As they live their lives in the face of death they are forced to come together and try to find the loving marriage they never had. This is one of the best films of 2006 in my opinion and highly recommended.

This was a beautiful and poignant love story, a love story for grown-ups about forgiveness, redemption and learning things about yourself that you never suspected. Fantastic acting, beautiful cinematography, sad but uplifting, this was a truly great movie.

Edward Norton is a very versatile actor and I love anything he's in, this was no exception. Good love story, sad, but not gooshy. There were no dull or slow parts for me. Really, really good!
