Dated but a plotline with substance. One of two of Bridget Fonda's actually good movies!

A cutesy remake of the much better foreign film, "La Femme Nikita" (LFN). Hollywood often can't leave well enough alone when they get a good idea from overseas. Bridget Fonda isn't nearly as gritty as her character in LFN, and to be more believable, the character NEEDS a high level of grittiness. Some typical Hollywood stupidness, like a 220lb man being knocked off his feet and knocked back ten feet by the punch of a 110lb girl. The storyline is decent, and most would probably like it a lot if they hadn't seen the original.

Point of No Return

(4 out of 5 stars)

"A punk female murderer is transformed into a bourgeois assassin by an underground government agency. This is a really brutal movie. I think Gabriel Byrne is what made this movie. He was great as Bob and the chemistry between him and maggie/Nina was overwhelming. I think this was a movie made good by the cast. I thought Fonda and Byrne were incredible. Still it's a good movie, I think besides the incredible chemistry between Byrne and Fonda the story was moving and makes you want to know what happens next.
