An old favorite is Poldark. Super bingeable. This older version is just as engaging as the newest and certainly worth watching. Cornwall is quite the dreary place, and if anything, this older series excels with a lot of dark shots which well demonstrate the atmosphere. If you are enjoying the new version you owe it to yourself to give this one a try too.

Absolutely terrible dark sets and costumes that you could just TELL were influenced by the era in which it was filmed...but it is amazing! The story, the actors -- perfection, and the chemistry between the actors is HOT, HOT, HOT! JUDAS!!, as Demelza would shout, this series is fun.I stayed up until past 3am many nights because the story was so engaging and I wanted to see how Ross and Demelza evolved as the years passed. Prudy and Judd provided perfectly placed comic relief just when I thought I'd explode from all the tension. I'm telling you even with a few line flubs and the distractingly awful sets of the first series,
( second series stages were so much better) this series is now one of my favorites and I've watched a lot of costume dramas, so that's saying something. I'm of the opinion that the British can do no wrong when it comes to their dramas. Spectacular.
