Ready to Rumble is a buddy/wrestling flick starring David Arquette and Scott Caan as two slacker buddies who are port-o-potty cleaners by day...and huge wrestling fans by night. They take a road trip to see their favorite wrestler, the King, take on his hated rival Diamond Dallas Page on WCW Monday Night Nitro. But when their hero is betrayed and defeated, they take a quest to help him regain his right spot. Too bad that the King is just a washed-up drunk living in a trailer park. Getting him back in shape will be no easy task, but the boys are willing to try. On their quest for redemption, they run into a sexy Nitro Girl, played by so-hot-it-hurts Rose McGowan, who falls for David. But will she drag him down and destroy the boys and the King's quest for wrestling stardom? This film was made at the height of the WCW Wrestling craze and was their shot at getting into the movies...and making stars of some of their wrestlers. Not only does Diamond Dallas Page have a big role, but we also see, Sting, Goldberg, and cameos from most of the WCW stable. And if that's not enough to get you to the show...Rose McGowan's hot bod in a plethora of sexy outfits should do it for the guys...and some of you ladies. ;-)

Stupid? Yes. Predictable? Absolutely. Funny? Sadly, yes. Entertaining? Unfortunately so. I laughed so hard at this movie in theaters, and I still do today. This is one of my guilty pleasure movies. It was a last ditch effort by WCW to stay afloat, and it didn't work out for them. But hey, I still love the movie and the soundtrack.

Movie Reviews
Awesome Movie for all wrestling fans!!

"I picked this up to rent one night because basically I love wrestling and anything with wrestling sparks an interest within me. The movie is about two guys, Gordie (David Arquette,Scream) and Sean (Scott Cann,American Outlaws) who want to get their favorite wrestler of all time, Jimmy King (Oliver Platt, Don't Say A Word) back into the WCW wrestling federation. King was screwed out of the company and the title by Sinclair (Joe Pantoliano, The Matrix) the owner of the company in the film. So the two friends embark on a quest to get him one last shot against the new champion Diamond Dallas Page. (as himself of course) The movie is full of jokes and stunts that all move fans can enjoy but only wrestling fans will surely apperciate the little things that appear in the film that relate to wrestling. The wrestlers in the movie all play themselves but for some reason are very humorus at times. (Hint : There is a scene in the movie where Physco Sid and Perry Saturn are crying and wrestling fans will surely get a kick out of it) This movie is mainly geared towards wrestling fans. I have heard reviews of how this movie makes the wrestling fan look idiotic. This is not the case it just shows that we know that is a show and we don't care! Don't tell us it's fake...you won't like what we give you in return. (Another scene that is hilarious in the film..you'll see what I mean) Basically, catch this one if your a wrestling fan, you won't regret it. P.S - Don't let anyone tell you that wrestling is phony! These guys are seriously the best athletes in the world."

It stars David Arquette, Scott Caan, Oliver Platt, Rose McGowan, Bill Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page, Sting, Joe Pantaliano, plus many other great actors that are great. It's about two friends Gordie(Arquette) and Sean(Caan) go to watch there favorite wrestler Jimmy King(Oliver Platt) in the ring. Jimmy's boss turns on him and makes him take a brutal beating by Diamond Dallas Page. Jimmy never wrestles again until Sean and Gordy leave the match all mad and sad until they find Jimmy King and try to get him back in the ring so he can regain his belt and get back at those who turned on him. He gets a wresting trainer Sal (Martin Landau) who helps him get back into wrestling. They continue to train and fight until there big match comes.SPECIAL FEATURES:

... Fresh New Comedy With A Great Cast ...

"Ready To Rumble, starring David Arquette, Scott Caan, RoseMcGowan & Oliver Platt is one of the funnest movies to watch!Filled with hot stars, a great script and hilarious lines, Ready To Rumble fills the mold of a great movie!David Arquette [Scream] plays Gordie with all his "dumbness" and stupidity. He is a hilarious actor with a great future... Scott Caan [Varsity Blues] plays Sean, Gordies best friend. His clever and some-what smarter (not by much) lines show he is a bit more intelligent that Gordie, but just as obessed with wrestling. His career is definately rising... Rose McGowan [Jawbreaker] acts along side Arquette again (before in Scream) as Sasha, the lead Nitro Girl. Her gorgeous face, beautiful body and talent gives her role a great push. Her acting career definately has a future... The film also features Oliver Platt, Bill Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page, and Joe Pantoliano. It is a great film and is recomended to all audiences!"
Surprisingly funny

"This is a very well written film. It's stoopid and sweet and charming and at times really funny. It's got a Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure vibe to it with a little bit of Raising Arizona quirkiness and a few digs at the Rocky genre. It's got wry humor and slapstick--something for everybody.
I stumbled on this buddy movie on TV, and I was hooked within minutes; I'd never heard of it before. The two main characters are so simple and so disarming, you buy right into the plot. Look, it's not a work of art, but it's not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. I had some good laughs."

"While going into the theater, I was clueless on what to expect from this movie. What I got was a movie that made my whole day seem brighter. Great acting, great laughs, and great surprises are what makes this movie a definite 5 on my scale. If you haven't seen it yet, you don't know what you're missing."
