Disappointing

"i was really excited to get this dvd. finally, getting to see vintage sabbath; nice. unfortunately, i was a very disappointed.

the audio for the live footage is pretty good, however, the editing leaves a lot to be desired. the lion's share of the live footage consists of close ups of the vocalist; the guitarist is shown mainly during solos; the drummer gets a couple minutes of screen time; and we barely ever see the bassist. every song is interrupted, at least once, to let the experts speak, but i found myself quite uninterested in what they had to say.

only the guitarist is interviewed on video. there are a couple bad quality audio clips from the vocalist and the bassist.

the live tracks consist of 'black sabbath', 'war pigs' (with alternate lyrics), 'paranoid', 'iron man', 'hand of doom', and 'fairies wear boots'.

in addition to the interrupted live tracks, there is a bonus section that contains uninterrupted versions of 'paranoid', 'iron man', 'war pigs', and 'fairies wear boots'. this dvd would have been much better if it had been primarily presented in this uninterrupted fashion. i'm not sure why they chose to leave out 'planet caravan', 'electric funeral', and 'rat salad'. it's doubtful that it's from lack of footage, as you can clearly hear the beginning of 'rat salad' at the end of 'hand of doom' in the main section of the dvd."
