Philip Hopes For Success! Once More a Lengthy Review

"...Anyway, here's another great Sailor Moon S DVD from Pioneer ^^ Again it's great value for money with 6 uncut episodes in both subtitled and dubbed formats (i.e. the content of 4 VHS tapes), and there are some really good episodes (many of which actually advance the story) too. My favourite on this disc is the last one ("Invasion from an Alternate Dimension! The Mystery of Mugen Academy"), where in a very emotional scene we find out a bit about the past of Professor Tomoe and Hotaru, and also we get introduced to Telulu, Mimet's successor with funky green hair ^^The DVD quality is roughly the same as always. We have great cover art on both the outside and the inside (although I like the outside cover better), pretty good video quality and, to be perfectly honest, horrible sound quality (not that any better was expected). The menus feature Sailor Mars and are great, as always. The extras are both quite boring this time: a Sailor Mars profile/art gallery, and the third opening (which was used for all the episodes in the American release) with Japanese credits. I was hoping for the end-of-episode previews, but no such luck :(And finally we come to the quality of the dub. This disc has four good episodes, one that was done by the bad writer but has no real problems and one that was done by the bad writer but doesn't have as many problems as in some others (although enough was changed that the story of the dubbed episode makes no real sense). The acting (and also the mixing of the audio) seem to be improving - I enjoyed the dubs of these episodes more than the ones on the earlier discs. The original's still my preference though.I'm sure what I'm about to say is no surprise: If you have all the discs so far (and like them to some extent), get this. The storyline is getting better and better, and with the Messiah of Silence on the verge of awakening and only one disc left to go, you don't want to stop now!"
Nearing the end of the S series

"Well, this is almost the end of the S series. This DVD volume mostly focuses on the arrival of the Messiah of Silence, as well as the relationship between Hotaru and Chibiusa. There are a lot of funny moments, as well as touching moments, on this DVD. However, that's only if you are watching the original Japanese verison with subtitles. The dud is just annoying. If you want to get the REAL Sailor Moon S experience, watch the original with the subtitles. Also, the extras are ok. You get a picture gallery of Sailor Mars/Rei and a bio on her. Oh yeah, and parents worried about the whole "lesbian" thing between Haruka and Michiru (Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune) can give a sigh of relief. Even in the original version, you really couldn't tell that they were lovers.....on this volume anyway. However, it should be known that they are lesbians, and that may frighten some of you, but that makes this series all the more touching. To me, they have the most heartfelt and touching relationship in ANY anime that I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of anime in my time. So, if you're a fan of Sailor Moon, or you just want to catch up on some old episodes you might have missed, this DVD is worth every penny you pay. Do yourself a favor and get it."

"This Uncut Version is great! Six great episodes in one DVD that you'll truly enjoy! One of my favorites is "The Battle in a Demonic Dimension! The Sailor Soldier's Bet" because its funny and interesting to watch, like its funny how the Sailor Scouts play all these games just to get out,and I really enjoy watching this episode in japanese. These episodes also explain alot more about Hotaru not only that she might be Sailor Saturn, but also the Messiah Of Silence."
The story in depth

"This video has a great and particularly emotional trio of episodes. In the first one, Dr. Tomoe's slightly geeky assistent (her name's either Annete of Mennete) adds to many items in the Heartsnatchers oven and creates a warp in the house while Rini and Hotaru are inside playing cards, making a strange, funny, and confusing adventure for the Scouts when they come to the girls' rescue. The second episode, Rai, Michelle, and Trista keep having disturbing dreams of the end of the world and the Soverign of Silence, who may be Hotaru! Finally, the last episode is definately a tear jerker at the beginning for senseitive Moonies, dealing with Rini and Hotaru's relationship. The rest is the outer Scouts search for info on Hotaru and Dr. Tomoe's past. This original uncut version is really cool, with a beautiful ending theme at the end (sung in Japanese). The only bad thing about this video is you have to buy the one following it because the final episode just cuts you off! But all in all, this video is great. I definately recommend it!"

"In this volume, the Senshi discover that Hotaru is Sailor Saturn! It's an exciting volume, I bought it from Amazon.com about a year ago. The entire season of Sailor Moon S is awesome, it's my 2nd favorite Sailor Moon season. Mimet is also dead by the end of this volume, which may cause some of you to jump for joy. I, personally, love Mimet and hated to see her go. The volume kind of leaves you at a cliff-hanger, be sure the get Heart Collection VI!"
