High Quality Sound

"The sound on this DVD is encoded in 24 bit 96KHz sampling. According to the sampling theorem, this would enable frequencies upto 48KHz to be recorded. A person with perfect hearing could hear upto 18KHz. So why record inaudible frequencies? The idea is that this helps to reproduce transients faithfully. The musicianship on the DVD is good but bland. The sound, at first hearing, is like that on a well recorded CD. The percussion does sound more open and natural. On the whole, I feel this type of music does not glaringly show off the capabilities of the medium. Thus the four stars."
