Movie Reviews

I am floored!!!!

"I recently had the chance to see this DVD. Part of me wishes I never had viewed this disturbing movie.
While watching SCRAPBOOK I felt dirty! It felt like at any moment SWAT officers were going to bust down my fron door and take me in for contributing to the badness of society!!!
After the movie was over I sat back and reflected on the experience. And this is the conclusion that I came to:SCRAPBOOK is the most honest, brutal, powerful, and true look at a serial killer that I have ever seen! The camera does NOT shy away from the violence. It feels like the viewer is dropped in the middle of a serial killers life. And you see EVERYTHING!!!If you want a glossy Hollywood movie...look elsewhere!
But if you are looking for brilliant, raw and powerful filmmaking then this is your movie!HIGHLY reccommended!"
Another gem from Eric Stanze and friends!

"This movie is not for the timid. Low budget assault on your sense of right and wrong. In the footsteps of "I Spit On Your Grave" it takes you one step further into the mind of true madness. The sound quality rises and falls creating hushed converstaions (turn it up) to loud screams (turn it down) so real it is sure to get the neighbors dialing 911. If you are not offended by extremely realistic bloody rape scenes then give this one a look.As with Ice From The Sun, Stanze puts it all on the screen. The plot here is simple but executed with a real quality sure to offend anyone. Ths acting here is excellent, but I wonder how much is acting (except by "Leonard" played by the departed Tommy Biondo) and how much is reacting to the sequences they are a part of. "True horror is simply what one human being can do to another""
A REAL HORROR MOVIE !

Beauty and Terror in Simplicity...

"Image Entertainment has re-released another WICKED PIXEL CINEMA title uncut and with good special features. First, the movie SCRAPBOOK itself is a beautifully simplistic serial killer story with basically two characters: Leonard, the serial killer played by the late Tommy Biondo (ICE FROM THE SUN, SATISFACTION) and Clara, the victim played by EMILY HAACK (THE UNDERTOW, SAVAGE HARVEST 2:OCTOBER BLOOD). Both actors are brilliant in this movie. By keeping the movie simple, director ERIC STANZE (ICE FROM THE SUN, DEADWOOD PARK) is able to portray all of the torturous elements of kidnapping and torture, without pulling any punches. This movie made we cringe, wince, and shutter in terror, leaving me saying, "I can't believe they put that in a movie." Which, makes the movie one of the best serial killer, suspense, and horror movies I have seen in a long time.
The special features on this re-release aren't as extensive as the previous Wicked Pixel Cinema re-release of Ice From The Sun, but they did not disappoint. The commentary tracks are informative and the "shower cam" sequence was a nicely added, chilling surprise.
Although this movie is not for everyone, I highly recommend this movie to anybody looking for no-holds-barred brutality, done in a brilliantly simple style and design that leaves you breathless."
