This terrible comedy stars Kinnear as an elevator engineer and Lauren Holly as his wife, a perfume designer. The two can't conceive a child due to his problematic sperm, and together they head down a slippery slope of gett... more »ing help from a fertility clinic. Director Keith Samples handles all the embarrassing medical stuff with utter insensitivity, always going for the cheap laugh and making the clinic's doctor ('60s star France Nuyen) look like a humorless robot. The plot understandably delves into deeper territory when infertility troubles open the door to other, latent relationship problems; but, again, Samples is working with material more goofy than trenchant. The sight of Kinnear's character--while drunk and staring down an empty elevator shaft--cursing his sperm as "lazy f---ing swimmers," is enough to make you scream. --Tom Keogh« less
"While he was filming another movie in Toronto, we went out and bought this horrible movie so we could get him to sign it. You know what he wrote? "I Hate this Movie. Greg Kinnear""

"Just because a critic doesn't like a movie and has to vent his/her opinion on it, does not mean that the entire movie-going public has to hate it either. Not many critics liked Wild, Wild, West, but I, and many other people enjoyed it. Same with a smile like yours. If at times it became hokey or even suggestive, it doesn't matter because in my view it was very well done and meaningful. It shows what people are willing to do for love because of how powerful love truly is. When the gynecologyst put that huge, curved instrument into Lauren Holly's nether-region, that took love on her character's part."

"I just fell in love with this movie the first time I seen it. I love Greg Kinnear and Lauren Holly in it."

"I enjoy a good romance film as much as the next person, but this dreadful film is so forced that I could barely sit through it. Greg Kinnear who is usually very good is flat as a pancake along with his irritating co-star Lauren Holly. There are a few scattered moments (mostly from Joan Cusack), but not not nearly enough to get this awful film off the ground. I rate it 1 1/2 stars because I was somehow able to sit through this lazy comedy with no romance to be found."

"This is just the perfect film if you're one of those people with nothing better to do on a Friday night... The plot is rather predictable, but that makes it all the more interesting to see how the whole story turns out. It's a good film for all you romantic people out there... I personally think this is one of those films where they got the characters 'just-right'... Cheers!"
