Movie Reviews

TRACY & MICHELLE FAN - HELP ME UNDERSTAND...
M. Greco | New York State Not the City | 02/02/2006
(2 out of 5 stars)

"At 44 I've been working out w/ aerobic, step, etc. since I was 19 years old. One of my 1st videos I purchased was a Buns of Steel which had Tracy York as one of the stars and I fell in love with her as an instructor; plus I use to tape her show and do that. I 1st saw Michelle on a video with 4 others - I think an AAFA video -- began to review and purchase her videos.

So now it is 2005 / 2006 - I own probably 30-40 videos (not just theirs) and continue to buy. I saw Tracy and Michelle together again and the video was on sale both on Amazon and on the website I bought it at. Reviews I found were marginal but I still went through with the purchase.

I receieved it in the mail yesterday and decided to try it out last night. Now as I mentioned I am not in my 20's anymore and I have the usual aches and pains (knee -- probably arthritis). I had to stop and reverse the DVD right of the bat because Tracy starts right off going to the step as a warm up (about 8 minutes or so). I was lost had to rewind 2 times before I was able to even feel like I was getting a workout. Missed several twists and turns. Continued on to the short stretch and then Michelle jumps up to the plate. Anyway, her routine was going fine but all of sudden add-ons of not just over the top but turns and triples, around the step, and kicks, and then back to the begining of her routine to add-on. I ended up getting through Michelle's by just doing some of my own steps at times where I was too tired to figure out her's. Then Tracy was coming back to do her's to close out the routine. I followed for say 3 minutes and there goes the add-ons with turns and triples and on the floor doing turns and over the long length of the step. I may try it one more time. If it still ends up frustrating me it's going to the group that needs to be sold or given away.

I love exercising. But I also know I am not as agile as I was in my earlier years of jumping around for 45 minutes doing aerobics at the gym or to one of my high impact vidoes. Step to me was suppose to be a less impact sport.

Tracy / Michelle - I hope you fix your mistake and make another video together - WHY NOT GET DONNA RICHARDSON,TAMILEE WEBB,NANCY POPP, AND LEISSA HART. That would be a great video. You would get all us 30-50 year olds who followed all you buying it."
I disagree

"yeah, this dvd is hard, just like step it off 1. but it's FUN! it took me well over a month to learn it, doing only a couple minutes, or maybe one move, each day, building little by little. i rather liked the challenge. i would put this dvd on, try a little bit, and when i wore out, i'd put on one of the dvds i already can do. im am "beginning to intermedite" stepper."
