Movie Reviews

A man bridges a gap with his children...
Allen T. Sasser | Alabama | 01/05/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Jon Voight plays a divorced father of three, who rarely sees his kids, remembers their birthdays, and generally isn't much of a parent. The role of parent to the kids belongs to his beautiful ex-wife, played by Millie Perkins, and her current husband, a loving man played by Richard Crenna. Voight arrives to take his children on their yearly vacation together, and it turns out to be a Mediterranean cruise. During the cruise, the love he has for his kids is evident as well as the unfamiliarity he has with playing the father and putting his kids first. But when a tragedy strikes back home, Voight must decide if taking on the role of father permanently is something he can and wants to do..."
Overlooked gem

"A very emotional, well-acted piece of work by Jon Voight. Perhaps his best acting ever. Don't miss this one."
Worth Watching

"I grew up with this flick watching it many times and even now I cry just as much as I did when I first watched the movie many years ago. The music is beautiful and it matches the mood of it after the "tragic" accident. A scene that really pulled the emotional strings for me was the family dog silently crying lying on the ground while she was pregnant with her puppies.

If you're in a good mood for a major tear-jerker. This will definately fit the bill."
Jon Voight and Roxanna Zal Are Brilliant

"One of the most HUMAN films it has ever been my good fortune to watch..The entire cast just walks into your heart and sets up permanent housekeeping..Voight is so human and Roxanne Zal is the type of daughter every father would want....She must be in her 30's by now and I pray she has the sucessful career and happy life she deserves..If you want to spend time with REAL people catch this masterpiece...God Love Everyone who helped make this the heartwarming experience is most certainly is..."
