Movie Reviews

Gratuitous Garbage

"This is a terrible waste of time and money. The plot (or whatever you call it), the acting (or lack of it) and the quality of the video are all abysmal. Don't waste your time or money on this one."

"Don't purchase this movie. It looks as if it was shot with a hand-held videocam; the acting is "cheesy."

In total honesty, someone shot this in their basement, using a few different scenes and backgrounds. I NEVER even finished watching the movie, it was so awful.

Save your hard-earned cash on this one!"

"To each their own of course, and I know there are those who "liked" this movie. I am not putting you folks down. I saw it on a few lists of Amazon customers as a "best" so I took the plunge. All I can say is I was expecting something "different". First of all, this "movie" looks as if it were shot on a home VHS movie camera. And if the "story", or the "acting" or the "effects" or anything else about it had been original or exceptional in ANY way, it could have compensated for that "home movie" look. I would have still praised it. You have to start somewhere. But alas, this was not the case. The "acting" was very, very bad. The writing was worse. The "plot" itself was a "Frankenstein" all on its own seeing it was stolen and pieced together from about ten different horror movie themes, all exceedingly more original than this. There was A LOT of swearing and elaboration regarding sexual acts that the "director" wanted performed on himself or was having performed on himself. Why? Oh, for no apparent reason. They also throw in an accidental murder of the "director's girlfriend's" cat just for giggles I guess. There was A LOT of gratuitous nudity (I'm all for nudity, but not here) there were many gratuitous "sex scenes" again, sex is great, but I began to wonder if I had purchased a porno. And a bad one at that! It was not what I expected as a "best" of choice. Just say "no" to Tenement."
