Winner Takes All...And Karen Angle Too

(3 out of 5 stars)
"Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal vs. Triple X (Daniels & Senshi) vs. Motor City Machine Guns - One thing you can't deny, TNA knows how to kick their PPV's off in style. Great match that had plenty of time & had various multiman spots like the back to back to back moonsaults/dives/pescados on the floor to the opponetts including one where Alex Shelley had Sonjay Dutt in an abdominal stretch on the floor and Jay Lethal hit a suicide dive over Dutt to hit Shelley. Just what you expect from the in ring action of the X divsion with Elix Skipper getting involved as well.
Kaz vs. Raven - This was just a short match that did it's purpose in establishing Kaz as his own star but the match itself wasn't much to the point where people started a "boring" in the opening minutes...which is sad knowing what Raven is capable of.
Barroom Brawl: Rhino vs. James Storm - This was basically a weapons match as there were trash cans, bar stools, and even a toilet (no joke) getting involved in this aggressive brawl. They fought all over the Impact Zone with the story of Rhino "falling off the wagon" coming into play during the closing moments of the match. Entertaining encounter.
VKM vs. LAX - This was really just here to put over the ongoing story between Hector Guerrero & LAX with Hector helping LAX not get cheated out of the win. Besides that, the match was short with nothing really standing out except for Kip James looking like he stole Torrie Wilson's tights.
Humiliation Match: Eric Young vs. Robert Roode - This was just an average encounter with some comedic spots involving Ms. Brooks such as the headbutt into Roode's groin & she getting a fireman's carry by Young. The ending with Gail Kim getting involved with Traci being tar & feathered at the end was more entertaining the match itself.
Chris Harris vs. Black Reign - The debut of the darker & more evil Goldust. This match went just around 5 mins. with it's purpose of putting over how psycho the other "personality" of Dustin Rhodes was as he kept taking out officials from the start of the match.
Steiner Brothers vs. Team 3D - This match didn't live up to the months worth of "dream match" hype it was given as the crowd as dead for the most part. The match itself had it's moments such as Scott giving the Frankensteiner from the top rope but overall, just another average encounter.
Right around here was when Pacman Jones had an interview segment that wasn't anything special based on Pacman's mic skills until Ron Killings came out & addressed the whole "can't be touched" clause in his TNA contact & threatened Pacman leading to him getting beatdown (off camera) & taken away in to the hospital later in the night.
Doomsday Chamber Of Blood Match: Sting, Abyss, Andrew Martin (aka Test) vs. Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Tomko - This was a barbed wire steel cage match where you had to pin a member of the opposition, who is bleeding, to win the match. This was a huge bloody multiman brawl between all six men with weapons such as chairs & broken glass being used towards the end. With the win, Abyss gets the title shot at the next PPV as well.
As a side note rant: This was the only match Test had in TNA as he showed up on TV two weeks earlier & then throw into a main event match on a PPV only to disappear right afterwards. See why some of the loyal TNA talent get disgruntled because of their lack of TV time?
Winner Takes All Match: TNA & "IWGP" Champion Kurt Angle vs. TNA X Division & Tag Team Champion Samoa Joe - The story thoughout the whole match was Karen Angle & her new man (who was Trademarc, John Cena's cousin & the other guy off the "You Can't See Me" album) being a distraction for Angle thoughout the match...even during the entrance where he dropped one of his titles & looked like a defeated man. Joe & Angle delievered the match of the match night as they must put on wrestling clinics in the ring with this time having some comedic spots like Joe pulling down Angle's trunks. Again, match of the night (but the weakest out of off their TNA matches) here with an ending that resulted in Karen Angle becoming a full time character in TNA.
Overall, this had alot of short matches were just there to put over a storyline (Reign/Harris, VKM/LAX) or were just average encounters that weren't very memorable. The standout matches here were the Doomsday Cage, the opening X division match, Barroom Brawl, and the main event. This was an overall enjoyable event from TNA this year that I would recommend for a viewing."
