Movie Reviews

Where is the Reggaeton?
Salsavideoreviews.org | Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand | 11/18/2006

"This dvd does not contain any Reggaeton music or dance steps.

It is a total rip off.

The routine Gloria teaches is the best she has done so far. But it is not Reggaeton. You will get a work out just not a Reggaeton workout.

Buy the Reggaeton & Bachata dvd being sold on Amazon for some real Reggaeton music & dance steps.

This dvd is a real disappointment."
Fun latin hip-hop workout

"I enjoy doing this workout. I've been through it twice already but probably need about two more times to really get the moves comfortably. You go through about 4 different segments and then combine them at the end into a full routine. I like the choreography, a lot of it looks straight out of the music videos. Gloria is a wonderful dancer and excellent at cueing. Her background dancers are also pretty good, and give a variety of dance styles to watch. The music is instrumental, and doesn't quite have the driving energy of the reggaeton music we're all used to hearing, but it's okay. The workout is about 35 minutes long."
O.K. Workout DVD

"I gave it 2 stars b/c it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting real Reggaeton music, Boricuas or Latinos doin tha dance workout, and real Reggaeton dancing, a.k.a. EL PERREO. The video is real corni especially the backup dancers but it is a workout dvd that got me out of breath by tha end of it. I'm a slow learner & begginer at these dance video workouts, so it took me 3 times to be able to learn the moves without messing up so much."
Great dance moves, but teaching & practicing is rushed

"Unlike most, I loved her first DVD, Urban Heat Hip Hop, which had slower breakdown of the moves & I also enjoyed those moves. She gave explainations for the moves & analogies which was great. People complained about her saying "How are you doing? Beautiful...." too much which I didn't mind at all. Her other DVD, Latin Grooves, which was also broken down well, but the camera moved a bit too much & the moves themselves I didn't like as much.
This one I liked as well, the moves are even more stylish & slightly complex. The only thing is she spends less time breaking it down & in 1/2 time. She still does a better job then most since most don't even slow it down to 1/2 time at all. It felt a little rushed in the learning.
The moves are all diff styles w/some mambos, samba, hip hop, grapevines, small kicks, slides, etc.
She says "How are you doing? Beautiful..." maybe 2x for the whole 35 min.
Ther is a lot of camerawork to make it look more stylish such as a b&w hand cam shots which distract, but not too bad.

You can see how her style is at collagevideo com by looking up her older videos mention above."
