This is a very well done docudrama of the events that occurred before and after the Tsunami in Thailand. It is based on interviews and eyewitness accounts. It follows one story of a couple who lose their little girl, Martha, to the 30 foot wave. Her father can't hold onto her and she grabs a tree. He is unable to find his wife after, but when he does, she accuses him of letting their little girl die. This is devastating to him and he goes from hospital to village and back again trying to find any information about his little girl. In the end, their little daughter and 50,000 plus other people are never found. One third of the missing turns out to be children. The actors do an amazing job. It was very informative.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a most impressive and realistic recreation of the terrifying consequences of this recent natural disaster. This is no maudlin tear jerker, and fortunately does not rely on special effects for its impact.
It is simply a very well acted drama which probably even underplays what must have been sheer hell, although that is not to say the film in any way falls short of conveying the true tragedy of the event.
It has the even greater merit of having been made for TV, which one does not normally associate with this scale of production. If this interests you, and you missed it on TV, get it on DVD - you won't be sorry."
