Ok WTF is the deal UFC?!

"So I just got UFC99 and was gonna post without opening first but thankfully watched before I post this. So I thought the UFC was back on track with the way they were producing their DVD's so thats why I was gonna post before watching but nope. Prelim's are back on disc 2 along with weigh-ins and the CountDown show. They took out all Rogan interviews on the prelims but left only a few of the opening montage fighter's video before the fight. Now disc one has all the open montage video's along with all of Rogan's post fight interviews. I won't post the fights since most of you have seen this event and/or fans and know who is on the card. This is a really exciting card and if you can deal with the prelims on the other disc than it's worth buying."
CLASSIC MAIN EVENT AND CRO COP RETURNS

"UFC 99

I remember being extremely excited for this event since Wanderlei and Cro Cop would be on the card. After the night was over I was not disappointed even though not all things went my way that night.

DISC 1

1.MARCUS DAVIS VS DAN HARDY-this fight was very hyped due to Hardy's mental tactics of getting under Davis's skin. This fight was very personal for Davis while Hardy just looked at it as getting to fight a top guy. The first round is very good for Davis as he controls the whole round up until the last minute, Hardy comes to life towards the end. The second round is kinda even with Hardy controlling most of it even dropping Davis. Still Davis comes to life towards the end much like Hardy did in the last. In the final round things start strong for Davis but Hardy ends up taking control and cutting Davis open. As it goes to the judges Hardy takes the win much to the disappointment of Davis.4.5/5

2.SPENCER FISHER VS CAOL UNO-two of my favorite fighters and both south paw battle it out in this one. The first round is pretty much a clinch game with some exchanges here and there. The second round had a little bit more action in it with some good leg kicks thrown by both. Uno ends up on top twice I think winning the round but still kinda even. The third round looks pretty much like the first two but with Uno landing on top of Fisher again and controlling and good portion of it. When I was watching this live I gave the fight to Uno but the judges did not, Spencer gets the victory.3.5/5

3.MIKE SWICK VS BEN SAUNDERS-I always get excited when I see Swick fight because he has some of the best highlight reel moments ever. The first round is pretty much Swick's has he controls the round. My favorite moment is when the trash talk each other. The second round starts out looking like the first but Swick unloads on Ben towards the end and stops the fight with a TKO. His celebration is great to, good victory for Swick.4.5/5

4.MIRKO "CRO COP" FILIPOVIC VS MOSTAPHA AL TURK-I was super excited about this fight since we all are big Cro Cop fans, none bigger than my boy Trippy. Of course we all loved this fight since Cro Cop won by TKO but to be honest there was an unintentional eye poke. Still Cro Cop gets his second UFC win.4/5

5.CAIN VELASQUEZ VS CHEICK KONGO-the first round is pretty crazy as Kongo drops Cain early only to get dominated throughout the round. Cain slams Kongo multiple times in the first round. The second round looks picture perfect like the first, from Kongo nailing Cain to Cain slamming Kongo. The third round is very much like the first two with Cain dominating for the majority and taking the decision win.5/5

6.WANDERLEI SILVA VS RICH FRANKLIN-the fight that we all wanted to see and were extremely excited for, as one of my all time favorites Silva goes to war with Rich. The first round is excellent as both fighters throw with bad intentions nailing one another. Silva gets a takedown but Rich makes his way back up, close first round. The second round is another excellent round as both nail each other hard with Silva rocking Rich twice and Rich holding his own. The third round is possibly the greatest round in the history of the sport because these guys go all out. Rich got a takedown but Silva rocked him and pounced on him multiple times. The end of this fight is one of the best ever because Silva proves what a warrior he is, those elbows prove that he fights till the bitter end. Rich gets the judges nod and takes the win even though I think Wanderlei won this, still I like Rich and this was a war, great job by both warriors.CLASSIC.5/5

The countdown show is the special feature on this disc, excellent addition to the disc.

DISC 2

1.JOHN HATHAWAY VS RICK STORY-excellent first round full of action as both guys get takedowns, slams, and sub attempts, great first round. The 2nd round follows and is another good one with some more sub attempts and good action. The third round is another excellent one full of some more submission attempts with both guys trying to end this great fight. Hathaway gets the win on this one by decision in this great fight.5/5

2.DENIS STOJNIC VS STEFAN STRUVE-the first round in this one is very good with a good quick pace that leads to a big cut on Stefan. The second round is very bloody with Stefan actually dominating even with the cut and getting the sub win.4.5/5

3.PAUL KELLY VS ROLI DELGADO-good first round with Delgado controlling the fight with sub attempts from top and bottom. The second round is more back and forth with Delgado going for sub after sub, still Kelly holds his own. The final round was pretty much Kelly's round as he dominates it mostly. It was enough for Paul Kelly to get the victory.4.5/5

4.PETER SOBOTTA VS PAUL TAYLOR- very good first round that is fast paced and full of action, good round for both. Excellent second round with some excellent work from Taylor, Peter does good as well. Another good round follows as Paul takes the win after an excellent end.4.5/5

5.DENNIS SIVER VS DALE HARTT-this one only lasts the first round as both go at it trying to end it. Still it is not enough as Siver chokes out Dale with a rear naked choke. Another great fight and one of the few that does not go the distance.5/5

6.TERRY ETIM VS JUSTIN BUCHHOLZ-excellent first round that sees some vicious ground and pound and some heavy shots. There are also some good sub attempts from both. Great second round with both guys throwing with everything, the knees in this round are hard. Still Terry laces a nice darce choke that forces Justin to tap, excellent fight.5/5

The second disc has the behind the scenes, and other features on it, overall another great release.

Great Fights, Combined With Some Surprise

"UFC 99 was the 1st ever in Germany. And what better way to headline it then with 2 legends of MMA. Wanderlei Silva is what you call a killer! His nickname is THE AXE MURDERER, he glares across the octagon at you with an icy grin, and you know you better kill or be killed. Don't believe me? Ask Keith Jardine, who he stopped in a little over 30 seconds at UFC 84. Or as RAMPAGE Jackson, who knocked him out about mid-way through the 1st round in UFC 92. And despite getting knocked out then, he still gets MAIN EVENT here in Germany. Taking on Silva is former Middleweight champion, Rich Franklin. And whether he's been delivering the KO lately or not, Franklin is obviously an entertaining fighter most of the time. His highlight KO of Nate Quarry at UFC 56 shows just that. Now, after a split decision loss to Dan Henderson, is he going to take this one, or will Wanderlei just show Rich how a killer stalks his prey?

Sometimes I wonder if Kongo is plain crazy, because he stepped up for an injured Heath Herring to take on a man undefeated, Cain Velaquez, who is great everywhere, ground included. Both of these guys want closer to that title shot, so who will get closer?

Other highlights included Mirko Cro Cop making his return to the UFC. And Dan Hardy didn't just talk trash, he pissed off Marcus Davis for a grudge match!

And in saying that, there are 12 fights on this double DVD. Main card and preliminary cards are on seperate DVDs. In all fairness, you do get a lot of pre-fight interviews in this. But you don't get all of them, even one pre-fight was docked from the Main card, but you can't please everybody. When I say this, I myself LOVE the pre-fight interviews. But like I said also, THIS IS A 12 FIGHT CARD, and unless your fights are ALL under a minute long, then you probably won't be getting each and every pre-fight/post fight interview. That's how it is, deal with it, or don't buy the DVD and act so shocked like you suddenly got ripped off!

12 fights, and I will list them below.

Disk 2: Preliminary fights

John Hathaway vs. Rick Story: The newcomer, Rick Story is convinced that Hathaway won't be able to keep him down. Hathaway is coming off of a great debut, and hopes for more of the same this time around. It stays interesting, and makes it to a unanimous decision.

Denis Stojnic vs Stefan Struve: What makes this interesting is that both of these guys are coming off of getting clobbered the first time around! Stojnic got clobbered in his Fight Night debut against Cain Velasquez. And Skyscraper Struve got clobbered by Junior dos Santos in UFC 95. Somebody gets clobbered to the point of a major bloodbath in this one, and eventually a submission in the 2nd round is the end result. AMAZING!

Paul Kelly vs. Roli Delgado: Both of these guys had wins in their last fights. Crazy fighter in Kelly against The Crazy Cuban in Delgado! Good scrap that goes to a decision.

Peter Sobotta vs. Paul Taylor: Germany's own Sobotta makes his debut against a very RELENTLESS Paul Taylor. Both show that they are game, and a unanimous decision is awarded in the end!

Dennis Siver vs. Dale Hartt: It was great seeing Germany's own Dennis Siver getting back on track at UFC 93 against Nate Mohr. And to tell you the truth, I wasn't too impressed with Hartt EVER, yet he did show great class against Corey Hill. Somebody gets basically handled and submitted in the 1st round.

Terry Etim vs. Justin Buchholz: I love both of these guys, and they made it worth my while. A broken nose, a great scrap, and a sneaky submission in the 2nd make me love the winner even more, and admire the heart of the man who lost!

Disk 1: Main Card

Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy: I was THRILLED with the decision awarded, and think that if you think you deserve a victory so bad, FINISH IT!! The right man WON...END OF STORY!

Spencer Fisher vs. Caol Uno: A legend returns to the octagon against a man who isn't so easy to take on and take out. A very game chess match the whole way through, along with a somewhat surprising, but not entirely surprisingly unanimous decision is awarded.

Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders: As much as I was pumped by the announcement of this one, I thought there could've been a little more fight. In the end though, a TKO happened in the 2nd round.

Mirko Cro Cop vs. Mostapha al-Turk: What was expected to happen, happened, in the 1st round, with some controversey. I wasn't exactly impressed, but it is what it is.

Cain Velasquez vs. Cheick Kongo: This was kind of crazy! One guy gets rocked, only to take the other guy down and start pummeling the other guy. A unanimous decision is settled for in the end.

Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva: Well, the fans got what they wanted, but no knock out. A unanimous decision, and a great fight.

Enjoy everything that is given to us fans. Great countdown show, and I was satisfied. HAVE FUN!"
