"In a one hour visit through four wonderful locations, PBS takes a detailed and fascinating look at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, Boston's New England Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Honolulu's Waikiki Aquarium.

Beginning each segment is a short but interesting history of the founding of all of these facilities and also includes information about building and tank architectures, different animal species, specialized aquatic programs, and unique trivia specific to each aquarium. All of these venues have their own distinct appeal in so many ways whether it is mainstream or revolutionary or anything in-between.

Follow on chapters explore the intriguing aspects of animal training, medical research and rehabilitation, scientific discoveries, and conservation methods. Additionally, each facility recognizes that public education of the world's oceans and seas is a dominant factor in helping to safeguard the future of marine life.

Last but not least, and one of the most inviting parts of this documentary in my opinion, is the beautiful video footage of all the amazing animals and their interactions with aquarium staff members.
