As much fun for this adult as as they are for the children. Darling tales, animation and voices well-done.

So, radioactive raccoons hopped up on crack are committing gruesome murders in the Bronx neighborhood of New York. What's not to like about this schlocky film? Plenty.

The action scenes are so bad they're funny: the monsters consist of a guy in a raccoon costume and some animated stuffed animals outfitted with sharp teeth, along with a few computer-generated effects. Some laughs there, but there's an hour and a half of dialogue, half-baked subplots and eccentric residents crammed in as well, played by actors and actresses ranging from terrible to tolerable. I'm not proud to say I was faced with a mutiny by my normally tolerant husband, and was forced to navigate parts of this with the fast-forward button on the remote.

This film had such potential for fun viewing, it would have seemed. Alas, it doesn't even come close to the level of a Frogs or a Zombeavers or even the Gingerdead Man.

It's no wonder TV critic Leonard Maltin included this film in his list of best movies most people haven't seen. It's a classic, funny yet scary. Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis steal the show with their memorable antics.

Marcello the cat's misadventures made for engrossing viewing, and by the end of the film I had felt a bond to these cats of many colors and backgrounds. Good for pet lovers and anyone who doesn't require non-stop action and shoot-'em-ups with their movie experience.

Not awful, not great. Definitely low-budget, cat-and-mouse murder thriller with a touch of the supernatural. This fellow had to be one of the least intelligent killers around - it's unbelievable, some of the stupid mistakes he made. Guess he didn't watch Forensic Files...

Enjoyable, if bloody, zombie parody that explores the cliques and confrontations of the high school set. Not as well-done as "Fido," but a good movie nonetheless.

Don't know how I missed this movie the first time it came around. A real sleeper comedy/romance, for sure. Touching and hilarious, in equal measure. Everyone is excellent, from Jessica Walter to Adrien Brody and Illeana Douglas. If you like offbeat comedy, you must watch it.

Not a bad little British ghost story about a philandering, soon-to-be-ex-husband who comes back from a fatal car accident to haunt his wife. Nice twist ending. Very little gore, which I find appealing.

"Don't party in a cemetery" seems to be the gist of this movie, in which unusually violent ghosts wreak revenge on the late-night revelers who desecrated their grounds. These ghosts seem a little over-the-top, but the movie displays a wicked sense of humor, coupled with good acting and storyline. A worthwhile watch for horror-lovers.

Didn't expect much from this movie, and, boy, was I surprised. What a great film! Well-acted, poignant, funny, and had me in tears for the last 30 minutes or so. A slice of life you won't forget for some time. And, betcha a dime to a doughnut you'll call your dear old Mom after viewing.

Maltin was right - Peter Fonda is a hoot as Van Helsing in this creepy and seductive little vampire thriller, set in New York City. Enjoyed it very much - it's one of the better, newer vampire flicks to come down the pike. Not as scary as some, but Nadja has some fine acting and plenty of humorous touches. A real sleeper, from 1994 - I'm a horror movie buff from way back, but I had never heard of this one until I noticed it on SwapaDVD. If you like horror, don't miss this one.

Really, really liked this: a ghost story that doesn't hit you over the head with hard-core horror and gore. Movie well done, with good performances all around and a twist ending.

I'm sure the real-life priests weren't that polished or good-looking or capable of such witty dialogue, but these guys sure were fun to watch. "Possessed" is an entertaining dramatization of the famous 1949 exorcism of a young boy in St. Louis, MO. The filmmakers took some liberties with the real story, but I guess that's to be expected of an enjoyable Showtime movie.

This film blends the themes of teens coming-of-age and the supernatural. Not overly violent or scary - would recommend for pre-teens, teens and older folks who like a little slower pace with their movies.

Fun and realistic romp through the world of car salesmanship, and an introduction to a hyperactive fellow known as the Slasher who drinks beer for breakfast and chain-smokes, and may be one of the best car salesmen in the business. Engrossing documentary by John Landis.

I went into this thinking it would be a "so bad it's good" film. Yeah, it was bad, but I was revolted by it - didn't make it all the way through the film. If you care at all about animals, you'll want to skip this movie. The staging of animal deaths is just awful - the director and cast should all be ashamed of themselves for participating in this evil venture.

This Danish flick is wry and intelligent, laugh-out-loud humorous at times, and suitably creepy for a movie about an evil alien masquerading as a schoolteacher. Enjoyed the observations of the children, who of course knew from day one there was something wrong with this person. Well done all around - very entertaining.
