So boring !! I couldn't stay awake. Watch Amistad, which is a better movie on the same subject.

This movie kept me on the edge of the seat the whole time. But it was cheesy in spots and had several holes in the plot. Fun to watch at least once.

The acting in this movie was absolutely horrible. I felt like I was back in high school again watching my classmates act. I am very glad to get rid of it and can't believe so many people have it on their wish list.

I wanted to see this movie because I absolutely adore Zooey Deschanel and any movie she is in, even though I find M. Night Shyamalan movies funny and predictable. Shyamalan did not disappoint this time as well. The premise of the movie is that something is killing off the humans by getting into their minds and making them kill themselves. They stop, walk backwards (only in some cases) and kill themselves by whatever means is at their disposal. And let me tell you, they use pretty creative ways to end their lives, despite the fact that moments before they were talking incoherently.
The movie seems almost like a spoof of Spielberg's War of the Worlds as it follows three people in the apocalypse. In The Happening, the three main characters are science teacher Elliott (played by Wahlberg), his wife Alma (played by Deschanel) and Jess (played by newcomer Sanchez). As in War of the Worlds, they stay in a beautiful abandoned house where they find food and they meet their share of crazy people. Though Wahlberg is a good actor, he is not Tom Cruise and Sanchez cannot compare to Dakota Fanning. Since War of the Worlds was such a good movie, this movie should never been made. I recommend you watch War of the Worlds if you want to watch an apocalyptic thriller.

This movie was too long and boring. In other movies these actors know how to act but apparently not in this movie. Cameron Diaz did not seem to know how to relate to the character, and it almost seemed like she was just reading the lines. Kate Winslet was better, but I still could not relate to her character either. I love Jack Black usually, but he tried too hard to be normal and turned out to be creepy. Maybe this movie would have worked if it was an hour shorter and followed one less story line.

With the star-studded in this movie, I would have expected this movie to be a lot better. It was worth seeing once. Robert Downey Jr was superb in it. And as usual, Tom Cruise completely transforms into his character. But Ben Stiller's character was reminiscent of Zoolander. Jack Black, who I usually enjoy, was very over the top and not funny at all. This is definitely a movie I would see only once.
