Very interesting story, stuff I didn't know about happening. Nice to see Denzel Washington do such a good job in a different character than I am use to seeing him portray. Deserves it's R-rating, in my viewpoint. They could have left some of the sex out of it for a better movie.

I watched this movie at a hotel while it was still out at the theatres. I loved it! I have always enjoyed Sandra Bullock in films, and while it took a tiny bit to get used to her blond,(grin!), I thought she was outstanding and had a very believable accent. I would like to read the book to see how well it lined up with that story, but I really loved seeing the story of this amazing family that had the courage and tenacity to take a boy off the streets and fight for a new life for him. I hope to see this again before it leaves the big screen. Whether or not you are a football fan, it is a must see movie to see how all of us can have a positive impact on someone's life, if we have the courage to try.

Excellent movie about an amazing story. All aspects of the movie were well done. A story everyone needs to see.

Such a fun, fun movie. Who doesn't like Spencer Tracy? Even as an old codger of the father of the bride (he's excellent!). Taylor is beautiful and the other actors all do a wonderful job in this original movie that was remade more recently. If you think the new movie is good, you HAVE to see the original!

I ordered this movie because Joshua Bell played the violin solo to a song I wanted to learn, and in reading the info on the movie it sounded interesting. I've also enjoyed Judi Dench and Kate Winslet in other movies. This one was very disappointing. The nudity was way over done and the sex scene was not necessary. I don't think it spend as much time on the relationship w/ her husband as I expected, but it did show honestly how he reacted to her deteriorating state of mind (assuming, of course, that it portrayed him honestly, with films you just never know). I watched it once and am going to repost it and really don't recommend it.

Despite the bad review I see written here for "Newsies", it has been one of our family's all time favorite movie. The singing and dancing had us all ready to see it over and over when we first were able to find it on VHS (no easy feat at the time)and after I was able to purchase the soundtrack, we sang at the top of our lungs in the car until we all knew all the songs by heart. The story line is fun and interesting to follow, the kids are great in the movie and it has a great ending. I'd love to see our local school do this on stage. I have this on VHS and DVD but want another copy in case something happens to ours.

Very interesting video, excellent music played by Joshua Bell, but some sex and nudity that made it not so family friendly.

We just watched this movie tonight and even tho it is a 10 year old movie release, the story remains and excellent example of how predjudice is still alive in our country and how hard change is, BUT, change can come. We almost wore out our VHS copy when it first came out, we watched it so much, but I noticed things in the story tonight that I had missed the first 100 times I watched it! Great job by Denzel and the entire cast. There are CLASSIC lines in the story that we repeat often, like, "You're killing me, Petey!" This is one that should NOT be missed, whether you like football or not.
