This is a great little movie except for one glaring problem:
BULLS (boy cows for you city slickers) DO NOT HAVE UDDERS!
I know it is just a cartoon but lets not screw-up kids any worse than normal.

I am constantly annoyed by the critics moaning about not enough extras on a disc. I guess it is just me but I buy a DVD to watch a movie. If you want a course in film-making, go to Hollywood!
This is one of my favorite Robin Williams films. Not sure why. I just really like it.

Worst waste of time since "The Happening". How can you get this many (OK, a few) good actors together and make such a bad movie?

IMHO this movie did not follow the book well at all. It took bits and pieces of the three books and tried to cram them into less than two hours. The results were very disappointing. The visual effects were pretty good but with this one, you should read the books and use your imagination.

Forget all the extra stuff like interviews and “how they did it”. Who cares? This is a spooky film with some great visual effects and an awesome soundtrack! It gives your 5.1 a workout and the bass sounds wicked! If you don’t like a little gore, skip it. Otherwise, you’ll like this.

Bad script. Bad dialogue. Bad sub-plots. Bad acting by actors who you would expect to be much better. This movie started off bad and only got worse. Don't waste two hours on this movie!

I have never had a movie make me feel the sense of being alone and “on their own” that real men, on real ships must have felt in this period of time. I highly recommend it.

I guess I must be a "die-hard sci-fi fan". I didn't think this movie was that bad. James Spader as the no-nonsense, ex-addict reluctantly assuming command after the captain is killed. Angela Bassett - well, no deep-space rescue mission would be complete without Angela Bassett. Robin Tunney does well as the sweet but loose space tramp. I wouldn't give it five stars but for us, and you know who you are, it's worth an hour and a half.
