Thanks, Tom, for your suggestion to improve SwapaDVD.

This feature has been coded and is currently being tested. Look for it to be available around Oct. 12th.

"Auto Request" will be a new choice added to the Sort By: options on the Wish List page.

Auto Request/Ascending sort will list all DVDs set to Auto Request first.

Auto Request/Descending sort will list all DVDs set to 48 Hour Offer first.

The adding/editing problem was a server glitch and should work for all of you now. If the editor doesn't seem to load correctly, please clear your cache and re-load the page.

Dolby (Digital Sound) is correct. Here are a few more...

Sub=Subtitled

B&W=Black and White

Ws=Wide screen

Fs=Full Screen

aka=Also Known As

AC3=Audio Codec 3 (like Dolby)

CHK=originally included Checkpoint Anti-theft device

Spec=Special Edition

Unct=Uncut

BTB=Blacker Than Black (shows enhanced black colors if your dvd player and TV support it)

WTW=Whiter Than White (see above)

Keepcase=normal DVD case

PBS=Produced by Public Broadcasting System

SBS=Produced by the Australian version of PBS

Std=Standard or Full-screen

Steelbook=Premium DVD case

COLL=Collector's Edition

Slim=A thinner DVD case

Yes, it all happens automatically. Just be sure that your DVD is on the All-time (not 7- or 30-day) Top Wishes on the day that you post it. And don't post it directly to any certain member's Wish List, post it like a normal DVD destined for the next person in line.

When you post one of these qualifying movies, we'll put an entry into the Al Gore lock-box (SNL humor) and we check the lock-box every time a DVD is received to see if a Movie Mogul credit is due. The "DVD has been received" email has been updated to remind you that you have gotten the extra credit.

btw Jorge--I checked and you're in the Al Gore lock-box for Bedtime Stories (2008) PG.

As Kathryn B. said, you can't get Movie Moguls bonus credits for mailing multiple copies of the EXACT same DVD UNLESS you wait for the preceding copy to be marked received before you post the next copy.

But you can post DVDs with different titles from the All-time Top 25 Wishes at or near the same time and still get Movie Mogul bonus credits for each of them. Example: you can post Beauty and the Beast [Special Edition] (1991) G and then immediately post Fireproof (2008) PG and both DVDs would qualify for Movie Moguls' bonuses, assuming those two movies are still on the Top 25 list the day that you post them.

Jessica: No, there's no way to save any of the editor settings for future visits.

On SwapaDVD, the similarity % currently looks at:

state, age, gender

star ratings given to the same DVDs

favorite genres compared

wish listed DVDs

We may add more metrics in the future. This thread would be a nice place to leave your ideas. Whenever one of programmers gets a chance to work on the similarity index, s/he will take your ideas under consideration.
