Very painful to watch this true story but worth every minute of it. James Franco shines in this! a must watch!

Wow, what a movie! Great acting, great scenery, and edge of your seat plot.

Then why am I swapping it??? It just too brutal! My wife had to stop watching it half way through. I'm a veteran, a hunter/taxidermist and like action, violence, horror and carnage in my movies. But this, this was way over the top in terms of nastyness - even I draw the line on "self mutilation".

I can not recommend this movie to anyone. It would make all but a third world dictator sick to their stomach. Consider yourself warned...

amazing true story, really pulls at your heart and keeps you on edge. even tho we already knew the outcome, the path to the ending was inspiring and heartfelt. the alternate ending in the extras is by far a better ending, the outcome is the same but it shows what he actually went through in the final hours in the canyon, it also shows some footage with actual interviews with the people who first found him.
