Fun and exciting this movie shows the many talents of both Timothy Hutton (son of Jim Hutton) as well as Sean Penn, the perennial bad boy way back in 1984. Espionage is a big topic back in the 1960's and the cost is high for young men hoping to prove themselves. Directed by John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy) this is two plus hours of entertainment!

The pacing is a bit slow by today's standards, but this is still an interesting look into a "true" story (I didn't research just how true) about two American friends who sell secrets to the USSR.

The Falcon and the Snowman

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Christopher Boyce a young All-American man whose job as a guard for sensitive documents shatters his faith in his country and leads him to a sometimes comic, sometimes chilling sideline as a spy for the Soviets, aided by his scruffy buddy, Daulton it can't last, though, and the consequences are tremendous for Boyce and his family. This movie is a true thriller/drama. There is no eye candy to speak of, but the story is so compelling and the acting so superb, you wouldn't want to miss it. Dark, disturbing, and outstanding."
