With a fine lead by Guy Pearce I was really hoping this would be good. It wasn't. The hype turned into a bunch of hot air.

The daughter of the president is on a prison colony spaceship when a riot breaks out. Guy Pearce is the discarded CIA man assigned the task to go and get her in exchange for his freedom.

This idea struck a remarkable resemblance to Escape From New York; whereby Kurt Russell enters the prison of Manhattan in order to rescue the president after his plane goes down.

Lots of computer animation here which is expected considering we do not shoot movies in outer space, yet. Early on there is a hokie motorcycle chase which appears totally absurd.

Lennie James (of the short-lived and well done Jericho series) does a fine role as Guy's control agent.

Lots of good acting here but with unrealized expectations. I found myself getting bored (and looking for Kurt Russell) almost halfway through. I finished the movie only because I had invested in the beginning.

Contains a completely ridiculous ending. Of course this probably fits because it is a ridiculous movie also.

Guy Pearce is a fine actor. I do hope he can steer clear of these turkey movies in the future.

This movie is not worth paying for. If you really must see it, wait until it hits the five dollar bin at walmart. It shouldn't be too long.

Better yet, go and get Escape From New York. It is basically the same film.
